By MICHELLE LEWISBERGThe face mask may be the most common item used to conceal facial injuries, but it’s also the most commonly injured.
According to a study from the American Academy of Dermatology, facial masks can cause facial trauma, which can cause pain and swelling.
Facial masks are designed to help protect the face and neck from facial injuries.
But the most severe injury often occurs when someone tries to put a mask on their face while it’s already in a sling or on the back of a chair.
It’s also a common problem in sports and other sports that require tight movement, such as gymnastics, football and volleyball.
“The mask should not be used to cover the area between the eyes, nose, mouth or the cheekbones, especially when wearing a helmet or goggles, to prevent the eyes from moving or the nose from getting sucked out,” said Laura Zink, a dermatologist and co-founder of the nonprofit Face Mask Solutions.
There are multiple reasons why a face can get caught in the mask, said Dr. Lisa Lutz, a plastic surgeon and clinical assistant professor of dermatology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
“Most commonly, it’s because of the way the mask is attached,” Lutz said.
“You have to hold the mask on the face as if you were wearing a face shield, which is extremely uncomfortable.”
Lutz said you can prevent facial trauma by removing the mask before it’s put on.
To get rid of facial mask, remove the foam from the mask.
Remove any glue or other glue on the mask surface.
Use a mask scraper or a blade to cut the foam away from the skin.
Then, remove any glue that remains on the foam.
“You want to remove all the glue that’s on the surface and then remove the mask,” Luthis said.
Lutz suggests getting a mask off first with a clean razor.
Then use a disposable mask scrapper to scrape the foam off the mask and into a small bowl.
“That removes the glue, the glue from the foam and it makes it much easier to remove the glue,” she said.
Once the mask has been removed, put it back on and clean it with soap and water.
Lutz recommends using a mild cleanser and a mild shampoo or conditioner to remove any makeup.
“Once the skin is dry, it can then be cleaned with a mild detergent,” she added.
Once you’re done, use a gentle cleanser to rinse away any residue from the face.
“Make sure that you use a clean cleanser, and not one that contains any chemical preservatives or heavy detergents,” Litz said.
“Also, avoid applying a lot of cleanser or any other product that can irritate your skin.
You want to avoid using anything that could irritate the skin.”
